[uklinux-status] Mail Problems

There was a problem with sendmail on the mail server today that meant that 
it looked like it was running ok but it wasnt doing anything :(

Incoming mail was spooled on the backup server but may have been delayed 
for several hours.

You may have had problems sending outgoing mail - if it ever happens again 
try using smtp2.uklinux.net .

I have also implemented a paging system so that if you feel that there are 
serious problems with any of the services provided by uklinux.net you can 
notify support staff urgently.

Send an email to uklinux-alert@orange.net with the subject line 'uklinux 
alert - xxxxxxxxxxx' where xxxxxxxxxx is a short description of the 
problem - eg 'websites down' .

The message will be forwarded as an sms text message to the on duty 
support person. You can provide further details in the body of the email, 
which will be available in the email, but not transmitted as part of the 
sms message for which I believe there is a limit of 128 characters. 

Please only use this facility for urgent/emergency problems, especially 
outside of normal working hours.
